The Dedication (2026) – Short Film
Dir. Adrienne Lunson
The last of the Stephen King Dollar Baby adaptations, my score for ‘The Dedication’ features soloists Fraser Bowles (Cello) and Natalia Tsupryk (Violin/Viola) for Adrienne’s Japan based short film.
Featuring influences ranging from Tango, to Japanese touches and modern cinematic influences, some of my favorite tracks include tracks 7 & 8 ‘Yamamba’ and ‘A Mother’s Love’.
The film has already won multiple awards and as of 2026 is on its festival run. Coming in at a runtime of 38 minutes, I believe the intention is a pilot for a fully fleshed out cinematic world.
The album was mastered by Anders Peterson of G&S Mastering and Post, in Sweden, and released under my own label Little Island Records.

Bark (2025) – Short Film
Dir. Searit Huluf
An obsessive heartbroken woman makes a desperate attempt to reconnect with her ex, but it turns out stealing his dog might not be the way to his heart.
Starring Monica Potter, Alfonso Caballero and Jennie Sherer, my quirky, aggressive, jazz-punk-dog score remains one of the most fun sonic adventures I’ve had, and I’m thankful to Searit for giving me full creative license to go wild.
Did I sample a dog bark and turn it into a dog symphony? Yes. Did I record a ton of electric rock guitar and mash that together with a jazz brass section and drumkit? Been there done that.
I recognize that the score may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but in the right mood and certainly, in support of the dark comedy of the film, it was perfect.
The album was mastered by Anders Peterson of G&S Mastering and Post, in Sweden, and released under my own label Little Island Records.

The Stand (2025) – Short Film
Dir. Oanh-Nhi Nguyen
The Stand was a film commissioned as part of ‘Rising Voices’ in 2025, directed by Oanh-Nhi Nguyen and premiering at Tribeca Film Festival in the same year.
It’s a heartfelt story about a family’s love for each other and their perseverance in surviving in spite of difficulties in life.
A highlight for this short album for me was collaborating with songwriter Trace on two tracks, ‘I’m Not Sorry’ and ‘Yrros’, and having both appear prominently in the film.
‘I’m Not Sorry’ had Trace’s masterful lyrics and songwriting that I fleshed out on the guitar, and it was also recorded at my studio. ‘Yrros’ had me remixing Trace’s original vocal into an EDM track that was really fun to do.
The album was mastered by Anders Peterson of G&S Mastering and Post, in Sweden, and released under my own label Little Island Records.

The Accidental Getaway Driver (2025) – Feature Film
Dir. Sing J. Lee
My biggest solo release yet, and a film that I’m so immensely proud of, The Accidental Getaway Driver premiered at Sundance in 2023, won Best Director: Dramatic, went into hiding and then re-emerged in 2025, getting a US theatrical release thanks to Utopia Pictures.
Along with that release came the soundtrack album that I worked so hard on. The film had a very specific tonal palette, and I had to focus on using mainly guitar and plucked instruments, along with percussion, to tell the story.
We were careful to avoid tropes of race and culture and to score the emotion of the scenes instead. My overarching task was also to tie everything together sonically, between the songs and score, and to do it with a quick turnaround.
I wrote over an hour of music, about 40-45 minutes made it into the film, and was fortunate enough to have Fraser Bowles (Cello) and Hal Rosenfeld (Percussion) to sweeten the score, along with my own guitar and mandolin recordings.
Some of my favorite tracks include ‘Memories’, ‘Fever Dreams’, ‘Speedometer’ and ‘Father and Son’. For those action-inclined, I would recommend ‘Beach Fight’ which is an extension of ‘Speedometer’ in a very intense, climactic scene.
The album was mastered by Anders Peterson of G&S Mastering and Post, in Sweden, and released under Sony’s Madison Gate Records.

Technicians (2024) – Short Film
Dir. Kevin and Kelly Luu
2024 was the year that I scored two very socially relevant shorts, Technicians being one of them.
This film is about a Nail Salon and its technicians struggling to adapt to changing times with technology being introduced, and that is the focal point of how our two leads, played by Cathy Bui and J. Alphonse Nicholson, meet and explore a rapidly changing world.
I wanted to convey a sense of humanity amidst the sea of technology, and recorded my own vocals that I then processed to sound a little more digital and effected, on top of a bed of synths and piano, to score the film.
I’m always in awe of siblings that can collaborate together effectively, and the Luu brothers are no exception to that, and I think they told their hearfelt story very well.
Technicians premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in 2024 as part of the Rising Voices program.

Border Hopper (2024) – Short Film
Dir. Nico Casavecchia
The second of the socially-relevant shorts I scored in 2024 was a tense, horror-drama called Border Hopper, conceptualized by Nico Casavecchia and Mercedes Arturo, and shot here in Los Angeles but with a cast and crew from all over the world.
It is a story about immigration gone wrong for our protagonist, and the chaos that ensued as a result of that. With it being filmed sometime in 2023, it was certainly ahead of its time when it premiered at Sundance in 2024.
My score required a lot of experimentation to create a unique palette for the film, featuring tense warped acoustic sounds, lots of recorded horror strings (using my violin and viola), and big epic percussion. It wasn’t traditionally big as there was no orchestra, but still conveyed that vastness of the mindscape as our lead (portrayed by Gabriela Ortega) descends into madness.
Some of my favorite tracks are ‘Border Hopper Suite’ and ‘Two Hours to Boarding’, but depending on my mood, I also find myself drawn to some of the other slow-burn tracks as well.
The album was re-mastered by Anders Peterson of G&S Mastering and Post, in Sweden, and released under my own label Little Island Records.

Rice Connections (2022) – Dance Documentary Film
Dir. Aida Redza
This 3 track EP was written and composed for the documentary film ‘Rice Connections’.
The Film itself has already won 2 awards: Best Audience Award at ARFF Barelona, and best Documentary Short Film at Onyko Film Awards in Ukraine.
It tells the story of a Malaysian dancer/activist Aida, whose work centers around Rice and Paddy fields, and the interplay of cities and nature. As such the music blends ethnic as well as western instruments, recorded live (Xiao, Dizi, Erhu and Cello).
I had the privilege of recording live musicians for this album. Featured prominently are (in alphabetical order) Ashley Jarmack (Woodwinds), Steve Chiu (Erhu, Violin) and Ro Rowan (Cello).

Sudsy Slim Rides Again (2018) – Feature Film
Dir. Logan Dellinger
Alaskan director Logan Dellinger is a long-term collaborator of mine, having scored his first feature film ‘Moose’, as well as multiple other smaller projects along the way for his company AK Nomad Cinematics as well as producer Chad Carpenter (of Tundra Comics fame).
Featuring a local, charming cast and leaning on dark humor and satire, this film explores local legends in tongue-in-cheek fashion, delivering it to audiences in the format of a modern Western, complete with shootouts, epic chases and even some scares.
In terms of the score, this was my most ambitious project at the time (2018), and I recorded numerous session players here in LA to bring life to my music. These included Jess Jarvis (vocals), Ro Rowan (cello), Lisa Liu (violin), Jon Papenbrook (horn and trumpet), Jon Alvarez (bass), as well as myself on guitars and harmonica.
I recently revisited this and remixed it to add some more modern polish to things, and hope that you’ll check the movie out on Amazon Prime. Some of my favorite tracks are ‘Peace and Quiet’, ‘Rescue’, and ‘The Prophecy’.
